New Karndean Floor in Romiley

Did you know that a Herringbone floor can make any size of room look bigger? Even a small or narrow space can look larger than it actually is, that’s because the pattern creates the illusion of movement. Cheadle Floors recently fitted a stunning new floor in the kitchen, utility room and conservatory of a house in Romiley. Our clients opted for lime washed oak in the Knight tile range from Karndean. The specifically requested that it be laid in a Herringbone pattern.

As a Karndean fitter in Romiley we started the process by removing the existing flooring and disposing of it. We covered the sub floor with a combination of sp101 plywood and concrete and then to ensure the surface was completely level and smooth we used a flexible smoothing compound.

As the kitchen was attached to the conservatory, we had to allow for the fact that the room could potentially get quite hot and so used a heat sensitive adhesive to accommodate this and ensure that in the future, the luxury vinyl tiles do not shrink in the extreme heat.

As you can see from some of the photographs there were some quite tricky areas which we had to work around including a pillar in the middle of the room. As an experienced Karndean fitter in Romiley we were able to lay the flooring up to the existing kitchen cupboards and skirting boards.

Our clients were thrilled with the results as they now have a contemporary, light space with flooring that is durable and hardwearing.
