New Karndean Floor Fitted in Bramhall
Having had many years of experience fitting and installing all types of flooring, including being a Karndean fitter in Bramhall, there are very few flooring challenges that I can’t solve. With this in mind, Cheadle Floors was recently asked to fit a new Karndean floor in a house in Bramhall. The job was quite complicated and required some careful thought as a previous builder had put down 9mm of ply as the main floor. We replaced this with a 18mm tongue and groove plywood. Tongue and groove plywood flooring is the best choice due to its stability and strength.
The next part of the process was to top the tongue and groove plywood with 6mm sp101 ply. This ply has been specifically developed for the purpose of flooring underlay and is quality assured for subfloor preparation and is suitable for all flooring coverings. To install this layer of subfloor we had to use a special heat sensitive adhesive. We were then able to fit the Karndean floor.
Our client opted for Karndean Country Oak. This particular range gives the authentic appearance of timber flooring with the rustic charm of knots and splits. It creates a great canvas on which to put your furniture and is also suitable for any room of the house. In this instance the flooring was installed on the stairs and landing and into the three bedrooms in order to create a feeling of cohesiveness and consistency. Using the same type of flooring to link rooms also makes the space feel bigger than it actually is. You can see the great results from the photographs included.
