As a result, we taped off the skirting boards and then poured screed over the base floor. This helps to form a smooth floor coating which in turn will provide a strong foundation for the top floor to be fitted. It ensures that any uneven sections of the floor are levelled out.

Once the screed had been allowed to stabilise and acclimatise which usually takes about 24 hours, we then started the process of laying the floor on top. We were able to match it up to the original flooring and you can see from the photographs that you can’t tell where one floor starts and the other ends.
