Herringbone is a popular choice for a patterned floor, but that has not always been the case. Over the years it lost its appeal and so up until recently herringbone patterned tiles and flooring in a home were considered dated and old fashioned, but they have made a comeback.

As it was a new build, they decided to have the same flooring throughout the whole of the downstairs of their house including the kitchen and dining area, downstairs toilet, hallway and lounge. As you can see from the photographs this created a nice flow from one room into another. It also makes the space feel bigger.

We started the installation process by first of all applying 3mm coat of Ardex NA screed across the subbase. This creates a smooth, level surface that is perfect for putting the adhesive and then the luxury vinyl tiles onto.
