Cheadle Floors recently fitted stunning new flooring in a lounge/dining area as well an adjoining room with a stairway. Having the same flooring throughout the downstairs living rooms created a seamless link between each space making the living areas seem bigger.

Our clients chose to have Karndean luxury vinyl tiles in American Oak from the Knight Tile range for their flooring. There has been so much progress made with the manufacturing of luxury vinyl tiles, meaning that you can have the look of an oak floor with the distinctive grain and knots but without the cost. There’s no sanding or waxing needed to maintain it, unlike having a real oak floor. It’s a great option for a room where there is a high footfall as it is hardwearing and durable.

Before laying the luxury vinyl tiles, we put a smoothing compound over the floor to ensure we had the perfect subbase to then fit the Karndean tiles. Preparation is essential in order to ensure you have a professional finish. You can invest in quality luxury vinyl tiles but if the base isn’t treated properly the tiles won’t look and feel as good.
