Have you ever thought about having dark wood flooring in your home? Many might shy away from having dark flooring thinking that it could make the room appear darker or smaller than it actually is. While this can be true, an open plan living space with light walls and furniture can stand out even more when paired with a dark floor. From a practical point of view, dark floors don’t show dirt or dust quite as obviously as lighter floors so don’t need quite as much maintenance.

Our clients in Cheadle Hulme chose to have a dark coloured laminate floor in their living room. You can see the how the room looked before the floor was laid from some of the photographs. The room was cleared, and skirting boards removed to ensure that the flooring could reach right to the walls. The hearth in front of the fire was also removed.
