A gorgeous new extension can mean only one thing…..new flooring is needed and that’s when Cheadle Floors can help. We recently installed flooring in an extension across the back of a house in Heald Green, Greater Manchester.

Our clients had used the extension to create a new kitchen, dining area which incorporated an existing room at the back of the house. To link the new and original spaces together, the same flooring was used as well as in the hallway.

Our clients opted to have luxury vinyl flooring and chose Karndean lime washed oak. The existing floor was at different levels so in order to rectify this we installed 20mm insulation boards across the area. You can see this part of the installation process in some of the photographs included. We also put a layer of smoothing compound over the top of this to even out the surface while also strengthening it. Doing this also ensures that the flooring fitted on the top is smooth and flat and guarantees the best results. As the new kitchen units were already in place, we were able to fit around them as well as cut around the existing fireplace. We fitted the flooring to create a herringbone effect. You can see from the photographs the lovely cohesive look of the flooring running from the front door right through to the back patio and the stunning herringbone pattern with its worn, sun-bleached driftwood effect which created a contemporary feel perfect with the choice of kitchen units.
